Download and Installation
OpenCards is an extension for OpenOffice, the free open source office suite. In order to install and use OpenCards you need to install OpenOffice (v3.0 or higher is required) first.

Installation

  1. Make sure the Java runtime environment 6.0 or later from Sun Microsystems is selected before you install this extension (see Tools -> Options -> Java in OpenOffice.org). Others versions of Java may fail to work.
  2. Download the OpenCards extension (named OpenCards-1.5.oxt) from our project site at sourceforge.net (use large download link above).
  3. Just double-click on the downloaded OpenCards-1.5.oxt file within your file manager. OpenOffice should start up and perform the installation automatically. If nothing happens, please open OpenOffice manually and install the extension by using the extension manager. It can be found in the Tools-Menu:
The installation was successful, if you can see the OpenCards menu in OpenOffice Impress (requires restart of OpenOffice):

If you're using Ubuntu you need to install the packages openoffice.org-java-common and sun-java6-jre (including their dependencies) prior to OpenCards.
